Contribution of Youth in Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's)

SDG's GOALS (www.un.org)
The SDGs' (Sustainable Development Goals) position health as a key feature of human development in a more integrated manner than was the case for the MDGs (Millennium Development Goals), emphasizing the fact that social, economic and environmental factors influence health inequalities, in turn, benefit from a healthy population. SDG’s has 17 goals and 169 targets, including one specific goal for health with 13 targets, have many linkages and cross-cutting elements, reflecting the integrated approach that underpins the SDGs.
Looking at 15 years ago at the trends and positive forces during the MDG era, many achievements and innovations were got like health system and technology, medicine and tools, etc. it could be felt everyone and become commitment all involved countries. Therefore, some of MDG’s targets (1990 – 2015) are not achieved like : Under five mortality rate is 53% (target 67%) and Maternal Mortality Ratio is 44% (target 75%), antenatal care coverage is 88% (target 100%). It was global challenges treat exhaustively. Beside that, the main health areas that are prominent in the health goal of the SDGs: UHC (Universal Health Coverage); reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health; infectious diseases; noncommunicable diseases (NCDs); mental health and substance abuse; and injuries and violence .It is still a “Homework” for all countries.  That’s why there’s a Goal to make sure everyone has health coverage and access to safe and effective medicines and vaccines (The Third Target).
So, How can youth make the contribution for SDG's goals? You don't need to do all of them. Choose one, then do it! It's pretty important than nothing to do. As like this quote :
"You live once, But You have the way of repeatedly making changes in your youth", My Quote for Celebrating 'International Youth Day on August 12, 2019'

The 5th Pencerah Nusantara Team was spread all over Indonesia with Ministry of Health and CISDI

Pencerah Nusantara is a youth program with objective to improve the quality of public health by strengthening the primary health care system in remote and border health centers (especially for the decline of Maternal and Infant Mortality, Malnutrition / Lacking / Stunting, and equitable distribution of government health insurance/ BPJS). It is opened for all professions especially health practitioners (doctors, nurses, midwives, nutritionists, public health experts, sociology, etc). They will be separated in some Remote and Borders Areas for a year by exploring cultures that affect the health of the local community.

Mission of Pencerah Nusantara are (a) Finding innovators and smart practices at the grassroots level, (b) Meeting  the needs of health and non-health workers at primary health care centers, (c) Strengthening the primary health care system in Indonesia both creative and innovative breakthroughs, (d) Changing people's paradigm and behavior towards health, and (e) Be a place for Indonesian youth who wish to serve and contribute to development. This program can be adapted other country as the solution in involving youth to contribute for health development (The 3rd targets: Promote physical and mental health and well being). That’s all can be achieved by access and universal health coverage to quality health care. No one must be left behind. No gaps that occur in the world especially in areas with limited access, energy, and natural resources.
This is just highlight which I choose for celebrating 'International Youth Day' and reminding me that I must not stop to do "something" around of me. I got many experiences and knowledge which related on my daily and passion. Ultimately, the choice is yours (17 goals). *** ig@sitorussyafriana

  2. Just do what you can do for people arounds you. Make your own move to make their life better. For me concern in children and parents education is more suitable because I'm no longer youth.

  7. One of the SDG's target is maternal of mortality ratio. I think it still need hard effort to decrease the numbers. How to educate the grassroots about importance of mother health. That's also our responsibility
